Davenport’s Multi-Party Presidential Bid Raises Eyebrows in Local Political Clubs

A writer and former state Senate candidate says his unconventional political experiment is about unity, free speech, and teaching students to look beyond party labels.

A writer and former state Senate candidate, Daniel Davenport, is drawing attention in local political circles with his stated declarations to pursue presidential bids across party lines. His approach has prompted questions about party affiliation, political identity, and whether his campaign could make history.

Davenport’s Federal Election Commission (FEC) Form 2 identifies him as a Republican. However, his broader Students, Let’s End Political Bullying campaign — his true passion —  has prompted him to sign up to be listed on the FEC as running for all three parties. No law prohibits this on the federal level.

“Everyone knows I am a Republican, and a light hearted one. If they don’t that is because they are not really my friend, but even a woman I was courting told me she had some concerns on our compatibility because of my Conservative Christian values which puts me in the Republican category for that alone. I want people to know I am a cool fun neighbor, and there is no change in the world that I am becoming president — but hopefully this is a Guinness Record — that could be cool, and something exciting for the cities to get behind — as long as the narrative is clear. We still have fun in politics, we still can do stunts to teach civics lesson on unity, role modeling, and trailblazing to our students in Polk and Paulding county. Yes, I am still running to be your next senator Polk and Paulding — and truth is I should have knocked doors. So next time, I will do that, and now some of you are actually reading this getting to know me — instead of learning of me via my mugshot — and the political attacks against me — which I know will happen. I just want to be an example, of fun, niceness, and honesty. I like straight shooters; and most like them too. So now you know exactly what is going on — something things got leaked, somethings we had to figure out along the way; but now we are here — this is a PR stunt. Plain and simple. Focused on unity and role modeling to inspire our Paulding and Polk students.

So in closing, I like to party for God, I am a Republican, but even in one party we all can be different, but always not making others feel uncomfortable is my goal: that is why this is all public on a place that you came to due to whatever Pr stunt got you here. People assume too much so I am going out of my way to give this interview to myself, by myself, because consideration alters; and I know first hand X.com and that algorithm is screwing lots of us up. One time I was running around naked I was so paranoid after days and days for rabbit hole reading and divisive tweets on X. Yes that is as a true story, maybe my opponent Jason will release the tapes and we can all have a fun laugh.

We all go through seasons, that should not be held against us.

Some observers have questioned which party best describes his politics, while Davenport maintains that he is a Republican, this is a legal PR stunt which highlights a broader underlying value he is qualified and capable of expressing with freedom of speech peacefully. He has been very clear— his message is about unity rather than division.

With more than 150 political party committees reportedly registered with the Federal Election Commission, it remains unclear whether Davenport intends to pursue additional party affiliations. Registration with the FEC, however, does not automatically establish eligibility to participate in every party’s presidential nomination process.

When asked about the reaction, Davenport offered a characteristically direct response.

“Well, I don’t see any law against it, and it sets a great example for our kids and students on unity and not division.

“Plus, I get to make history as the first person who is a veteran and former law enforcement officer to do such a thing.”

He laughs. Davenport says his effort is intended to encourage people to consider whether political party labels have become unnecessary barriers to cooperation. His approach has generated conversation among local political clubs, where his intentions and the implications of his multi-party ambitions have become subjects of discussion.

Davenport: ‘I Never Really Cared What People Think About Me’

When asked about the criticism surrounding his political activities, Davenport emphasized that he wants the public to focus on his stated message rather than speculate about his intentions.

“My thinking is, I never really cared what people think about me. My message is clear: There is nothing nefarious about what I am doing. If you are paranoid, that says more about you than it does about me.

“I want to show students in Paulding and Polk counties that one person can advocate for neighbors across all political parties. And making history—hopefully getting my name into the Guinness Book of Records for this one—ultimately reflects positively on our community.”

Davenport framed the effort as an opportunity to demonstrate that political disagreement does not have to prevent people from working together. Rather than treating party labels as barriers, he says he wants students to see that civic participation can extend beyond traditional political boundaries.

He also had a message for critics who might be taking the controversy too seriously.

“Life is fast. Slow down, laugh, and find fun in politics or wherever your interests are. Sooner or later, we will all be in the graveyard like Brandon Cunningham. So remember to enjoy life. If you are stressing over this, you are the problem, not me. Be a hero, so somebody is inspired and says your name after you’re gone. Again there is nothing nefarious about a PR stunt.”

Whether Davenport’s antics will translate into deconstructing of the barriers he things are dividing our students is schools is yet to be seen.  For now, his approach has generated conversation in local political circles and raised a broader question: Can a political figure use an unconventional campaign to encourage students to get along with those who think differently?

For Davenport, the answer appears to begin with a simple idea: “sustained unity” does not require uniformity. Unity requires being nice, being clear, and having fun — that is how we sustain unity. Unity for a moment is easy; and then betrayal, many smile in your face and you have a good 90 days, and then they ghost you. Sustained Unity, is what I want us all to have. I want to go into Walmart and Food Depot 50 years from now and still be remember as the guy always smiling, always saying “best day ever” and the one who never harmed anyone.

Davenport Left Us With These Words

“There is absolutely zero chance of me becoming the U.S. president because I filed forms in all three parties—the three largest—and, as far as I know, I broke no rules with my true party, the Republican Party.

“This is a PR stunt, and it’s doing what it’s supposed to do: get people talking. I want people to listen to the naysayers and question them about why they are so bothered by my ‘sustained unity’ lessons.

“At the end of the day, I leave these questions for readers to consider: Should we challenge ourselves to assume less about what others intend for themselves and their neighbors? Should we stop crafting arguments in our heads that paint people in another political party as evil? Should we stop believing non verified X or Facebook accounts? Should we call the Republican Party Secretary ask for Davenport’s number and take him out to eat to listen? Or maybe I just take them out to eat? The point is social media and artificial intelligence is lying to us all — and some of us know it’s lying — and don’t get caught up in the web — and others run naked after not being able to discern fact from fictions. I was the one running naked — thinking Elon Musk was out to kill me. Serious story, again, maybe Jason will release the tapes next race. I don’t know Jason, will you?”

Davenport, smiles. He is an American with a sense of humor, who is battle worn from war — he already told us about his PTSD — and the suicide ideations, and those he lost in the war — and those veteran who he lost to suicide. Maybe this is why he is so much more different than us. At 17 he needed his Mom’s permission to talk to the Marine recruiter — he chose the national guard instead. That was his first branch and as a local writer he expands his many experiences into lesson for children.

Maybe one day; everyone will just accept Davenport and honor him for the sacrifices he made in war — maybe he lost some of his mind during the war — but maybe just maybe he found a bigger heart upon returning home.

A writer’s prayer for us today:

“God will I ever just be accepted for who I want to be — as long as I am not harming anyone! ? I know the devil is evil—and there will be people who read their Bible after reading this and pray to you. Help them. Help us all keep the peace. I don’t want to go back to war. I don’t want my neighbors children to see war.”

The tears fall from his eyes.

“Dear God, I pray for my brothers and sisters reading these words today. Show them that they are no better than anyone else because of their points of view. The same applies to me.

“Yes, I want unity, but my goal is not to make those who want division feel bad. I am exercising my freedom of speech and doing so respectfully to teach some children who what sustained unity about the world they want to live in.

“God, show those students that name-calling is bad for them and the communities you will teach them to lead, build and grow. God, show us all whatever you want us to know.

“God, show me how to love my students and children who decide to become what I chose not to be in this world.

“God, teach me to fulfill my own roles, to be satisfied with those roles, and to remain respectful of the roles of others.”

Editor’s note: FEC registration alone does not establish eligibility for every party’s presidential nomination process. The Guinness World Records reference represents Davenport’s stated hope, not a confirmed record.
